Sangeet is a wedding celebration in Indian culture, filled with music, dance, and vibrant festivities. It's a joyous occasion where families and friends come together to celebrate the upcoming wedding (in our case we are doing it after.) Imagine a lively party where guests showcase their dance moves to Indian music, creating an atmosphere of fun and excitement. It's a wonderful opportunity to immerse yourself in Indian traditions, bond with loved ones, and experience the warmth and hospitality of Indian weddings.
For our wedding weekend we have chosen to have the Sangeet follow to the ceremony; we think this will be the best flow for our guests as well as our potential hangovers.
What should I wear?
We would love to see our friends and family get fancy with us, so we are inviting and encouraging everyone to come in colorful Indian attire. This means leaning into the classics silhouettes of Kurtas and Lehengas - and if you are feeling a saree moment but need help with the wrap give us a shout! There are many great options to choose from for between $40 and $100. Just make sure your fierce fit is comfortable to bust out your best Kuthu moves in, okay? (Please no denim.)
